Anthony Rejiv

     We are super excited to welcome back Anthony to our stage!! 

   Anthony  Rejiv, singer, saxophonist, composer, arranger and actor, is a native of The Bahamas. Born in Freeport G.B. Bahamas, and raised in Nassau, Bahamas. Anthony Rejiv, Jackson State University Alumni, started singing at an early age in his elementary school choir, but did not take his music seriously until the age of 16, as a result of finding faith in a higher purpose. From that moment forward his passion for music was fueled by his faith in God. To this day, Anthony Rejiv continues to follow this journey.

          He lists his early musical influences as Brian McKnight, Louis Armstrong, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Nat King Cole, Kirk Whalum, Kenny G, and Donnie McClurkin. Mostly self-taught, he did not start playing the saxophone until age 20, with very little formal training. Anthony Rejiv considers himself a variety player and singer, mixing smooth jazz with soft rock, R&B, blues, and reggae. 

 

Anthony Rejiv has performed with such artists and musicians as the Mississippi Mass Choir, Aloe Blacc, Keith Washington, Jill Scott, Serabee, Watusi World Reggae Band, just to name a few. He has opened for numerous artists such as The Wailers (Bob Marley’s original band), Keke Wyatt and Kenny Lattimore. 

        In 2014, Anthony Rejiv was featured in the James Brown biopic, Get On Up, as Nate Jones, Brown’s alto saxophone player, organist, and band director. In recognition of his stellar performance, he was awarded at the Jackson Music Awards by the City of Jackson, MS.

       Alongside his diverse performances, Anthony Rejiv is also an esteemed composer with a repertoire exceeding 200 songs. He is currently working on an album and previously released his single, What’s Going on in the World Today? 

 

      With a style that has been described as versatile and unique, Anthony Rejiv hopes to illustrate his journey and inspire the world through his music. Weaving various genres together including Christian contemporary, gospel, smooth jazz, soft rock, R&B, blues, and reggae, Anthony Rejiv is devoted to expressing God’s love one smooth note at a time.
